Q: I have been skeptical about the whole industry in terms of what I or my child may be getting involved with such as, financial scams and the lack of self respect and self worth that is seen in TV programming in the 20th century. Why is Talent Link different?

A: Talent Link is a Christian based organization and we feel as though we have been blessed to empower, uplift and encourage others to put God first and allow Him to be the ultimate director of their life. We will not shame Him in our works regardless of what Man or Hollywood says.

Q: I don’t have any or limited experience however, I have a desire to break into the industry how do I get started?

Q: If I don’t have any experience, training or professional photographs but I have a desire to pursue a career in this industry, what can I do to begin my career or start my child’s career?

A: Talent Link offers tools that have been proven to assist the aspiring artists; such as industry handbooks, CD’s & DVD’s; mailing labels (See Our Online Store). We also offer a wide range of training classes taught by industry professionals and tailored for all ages to strengthen your skills and if you are interested in shooting a composite card, portfolio or a headshot we will schedule you for a professional photo session if desired.

Q: I have current headshots or composite cards and I’ve had professional training, is it required that I take your training to be signed with your agency?

A: No, mail us your current headshot and resume or composite card and we will evaluate your marketing material, experience, training for contractual representation consideration. If you don’t meet our requirements we will offer you our training classes at our normal cost.

Q: I have an infant child that I want to start in the business, but I am finding out that most agencies won’t represent infants. However I see infants and toddlers in commercials, movies, magazines etc. Will your agency assist me in starting my child’s career?

A: Yes, we can help you get your child’s career started. The truth is that most agencies will not take the time out to educate the parent and provide the proper guidance needed to start your child’s career. We have developed an informative industry handbook and DVD titled “The Talent Guide” especially designed for parents wanting to start their child’s career in the Commercial, Film or Modeling Industries “The Talent Guide” will offer you the proper guidance in starting your child’s career in the commercial and fashion industry. We also offer a workshop for parents interested in starting their child’s career. Q: What is the proper procedure to have myself or my child’s photograph posted on your website to be considered for paying assignments that meet our criteria?

A: Please upload up to 4 of your photographs to www.ExtrasCasting.US , upon viewing your profile one of our bookings agents will follow up you to discuss next steps.

Q: I have an infant that I feel is very photogenic do you have any opportunities that would allow my child to receive exposure

A: Yes however the auditions and assignments are not as frequent as for other age groups. We encourage you to upload  your child’s photographs to our secure website that  is only used for our clientele that have met our code of ethics  www.ExtrasCasting.US

Q: How much does it cost to be represented by Talent Link?

A: There is no cost however, Talent Link does receive the customary 20% commission of your gross income. This amount is due to Talent Link only after we place you for an assignment.

Q: When do I sign a contract with Talent Link?

A: If you meet our requirements and have the proper marketing tools needed, you will be offered an EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT upon review of your submitted material. If you don’t meet our requirements, we will offer you the needed training to audition and compete against other professional actors for paying assignments. See our talent placements for a list of national and regional productions that we have placed talent.

Q: Can I sign with another agency while under contract with Talent Link?

A: Yes, you can sign with another agency. However, the agency must not be located in the state of North Carolina or South Carolina. While under contract with Talent link we have an EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT that states that any work auditioned for or performed in the state of North Carolina or South Carolina must be contracted through Talent Link.

Q: When will I be considered to audition for paying assignments?

A: We will only submit talent that are under contract with our agency to auditions unless your photograph is selected from our active Extras Casting.Us website. The talent selected to be sent to auditions must also have an adequate amount of training and professional headshots or composite cards to represent our agency in a professional manner.

Q: Do I need to take training from Talent Link or shoot my photography with Talent Link?

A: Absolutely not! You can take training and shoot with your choice of photographers. However your training and marketing materials must meet our agency standards before we will offer you an agency contract. If you don’t have previous training or would like additional training we will offer you training, it is your choice if you want to take advantage of our professional guidance; however you are not obligated to do so.

Q: How am I notified of assignments or auditions?

A: You will only be notified of paying assignments if you are under contract with Talent Link or if your photo is selected from our ExtrasCasting.US site. If you fit the client’s profile, and have the adequate amount of training we will notify you by phone with the audition information. It is imperative that our agency has all your current contact information and email information up to date. It is equally important that your updated headshots, resumes, or composite cards are sent to our agency on a regular basis and your profile information be keep up to date at www.ExtrasCasting.Us as well.

Q: What happens if I miss an assignment that I was scheduled for from Talent Link

A: Our agency will no longer represent you if you miss a confirmed booking. However if you cannot be available for an assignment, we will not schedule you for that audition.

Q: How am I paid and what is the time period before I receive compensation once I have completed an assignment for Talent Link?

A: Talent Link bills the client for the assignment, the client mails payment to Talent Link and we mail a check to you less the 20% agency fee. The normal industry time frame is 30-60 days after completion of the assignment before a check is issued to you from Talent Link.

Q: What does the average job pay that Talent Link books talent for?

A: Talent Link jobs vary from client to client however, our average commercial pays between $100 – $200 per day for extras, $250 – $400 per day for features roles and $500 – $2,500 for principal roles however, a National spot could pay as much as $60,000 in our market and S.A.G. job could pay as much as $100,000. Indie Film pay rates also varies from S.A.G rates. Movie extras pay is normally minimum wage per hour however,  sometimes as much as $200 plus overtime per day.
